my research
My research to date has largely focussed on queer / LGBT issues, with a growing focus on trans and gender diversity. As can be seen on the overview of what I've achieved so far (CV), I have studied and/or researched in the US, India, South Africa, Lesotho, Norway, Sweden, and Japan. I am particularly interested in identity construction, globalisation, and finding joy amidst oppression.

I also have a love for art, especially crafting and community projects. I enjoy working with personal and community healing through creative practices.

Currently, I am building a project entitled, 'Developing a compassionate approach toward transphobia'. In this project, I seek to contextualise and address tensions fuelling the trans/cis divide, using an empathetic approach that seeks to better understand and engage with people across the trans/cis divide, in order to foster greater mutual understanding and reduce sociopolitical polarisation.
